I am so sick of being a prisoner to Sugar. I have often said to my friends that they need to have an AAA for sugar offenders. Well, we need a SSS (Sisters Shunning Sugar), LOl! Okay I might have come up with a corny name but the subject is a serious one. This white crystals seems like harmless but lets look into the effects of sugar. Never mind that it will age our skin faster than the sun, it has a multitude of other bad effects:
This was compiled by a Physician:
* Sugar can decrease growth hormone (the key to staying youthful and lean)
* Sugar feeds cancer
* Sugar increases cholesterol
* Sugar can weaken eyesight
* Sugar can cause drowsiness and decreased activity in children
* Sugar can interfere with the absorption of protein
* Sugar causes food allergies
* Sugar contributes to diabetes
* Sugar can contribute to eczema in children
* Sugar can cause cardiovascular disease
* Sugar can impair the structure of DNA
* Sugar can cause hyperactivity, anxiety, difficulty concentrating, and crankiness in children
* Sugar contributes to the reduction in defense against bacterial infection (infectious diseases)
* Sugar greatly assists the uncontrolled growth of Candida Albicans (yeast infections)
* Sugar contributes to osteoporosis
Yes, I know we are programmed and that when you go somewhere and you are bringing the dessert you want to bring the best, richest desert you can find. And at Christmas we even have cookie swaps. With all of the sugar floating around no wonder a lot of people get the blues at Christmas, there system is out of wack. Heck without thinking we even program our kids. You do good you get to go get an ice cream. You had a bad day at school, lets make cookies....
If you can control it than you are doing fantastic, and more power to you. But right now I am not there so I am gong to step back and challenge myself to the rest of January wthout sugar. (For me it has to be whole or nothing). If you can not do that then go six days off and one day treat yourself. Just do something and be proactive... I gain and lose the same 7 - 10 pounds so often I haven't even logged it in. (Even the good weeks when I lose) But from now on I am going for it. ...Hope those with this problems does too, there is strengths in numbers.

Count me in! My office brings lots of treats and goodies. One thing I do is tell myself that it has been sitting out long enough a bug could've crawled over it. Then I have no interest anymore. Some days I don't say that and I eat it which is why I am here!0

The office sweets / treats are the worst for someone without much willpower when it comes to sweets! The time between Halloween and Christmas is my downfall.0
