I have noticed a lot of people have 5k's and 10k's as a beginning to there fitness goals, I think I want to get on that train. I have no idea where to find upcoming 5k's and etc in my area.
I live in Frisco just north of Dallas and if anyone could help I would appreciate it

Go to Active.com and you can search for local events. I am even on their mailing list (for Fort Worth) and they send me emails of upcoming events.
[off subject, I will be in Frisco on Feb. 20 for Cirque du Soleil]0 -
It seems like they are always having them around White Rock Lake. I'm sure they do lots of them farther north where you are too though.0

I always look at the calendar for Run On....http://www.runontexas.com/calendar/Calendar.htm...Run On is a specialty running store so they try to keep up with that stuff. Also do yourself a favor and google "Dallas Jailbreak Race". I missed the DFW one but my goal is the May 7th one in Austin...looks like fun times!!0

I know Fort Worth has a great trail for a 5K, but I don't know how often they host events for it. You could always try looking up Dallas and Fort Worth online as if you were visiting and there may be some things listed under local activities. Good Luck.0

I can't remember how to get there, I haven't run it since I was a freshman in highschool. It crossed a body of water and was in a very pretty park area. I got a tshirt, if I can find it I'll let you know where it was.0 -
I have been researching some local DFW races too. These are the sites I have found. Hope it helps!
