Gaining weight and eating right?

Options
Does anyone know why I am eating healthy (no meat, sweets & I stay under my calorie intake) and exercising daily but I am gaining weight? I think this is because I'm gaining muscle but Im not sure. HELP!

How many calories are you eating per day? Eating too few (under 1200) can send your body into starvation mode and it will store fat instead of using it as fuel. Skipping breakfast can also trigger this.

I'm not sure. Make sure you are eating enough protein at every meal, eat all you earned calories and drink plenty of water.

Watch the sodium in the foods you eat; it will make you retain water.

    - Keep your sodium under 2400mg per day
    - Eat at least 20g fiber
    - Eat 20-30% of your diet in protein
    - Drink plenty of water
    - Eat at least 1200 calories if you're a woman, 1500 if you're a man.

Sometimes it has nothing to do with your diet. Sometimes it can be hormones. I watch what I eat, but sometimes gain a couple pounds or sometimes 5-10 about two weeks before cycling. Then it just drops away like it was never there. My doctor told me it was hormones causing excessive water retention.

You've lost 13 pounds since December 11, 2010, according to your signature.

How do you see that as anything less than a resounding success! Congratulations!

Anything more than two pounds a week isn't good for your health. I think you are a Rock Star!!
