I heard about this prework out supplement called jack3d. I would love to add some more intensity to my cardio. Basically I want energy to run like hell. My boyfriend, trying to be sweet and caring did a little research on the internets and said it seemed pretty unhealthy and it was for body builders looking to bulk up. Do any cardio people use this? And if not, is there anything that gives you alot of energy to run?

I use 2-3 scoops pre workout. It is great, but make sure you have some food in your stomach and drink plenty of water because it had some creatine in it. Also, I wouldn't take it for more than two months on, one off. You'll get used to the caffine over time0

Does it make you gain weight?0

I've been considering trying it myself. Need that little extra oomph during my P90X workouts. I know a bunch of people who have/are trying it. So far I have heard this is the best one.0

I've used NO explode before and it gave me tons of energy before I worked out! I'm from the UK but I'm pretty sure they have it in the US too. They come in several flavours which are actually nice and from what I remember it was quite low in calories.
It certainly didn't make me gain weight although for a couple of hours after taking it my muscles looked kind of "pumped" and solid but that soon went back to normal later on0 -
You may retain SLI GHTLY more water but it wouldn't be noticeable until you get to a very low body fat %. People don't objectify others based on lbs; it's usually based on appearance. Take pictures often and judge your success based on that.0

DO YOUR RESEARCH
My husband and I workout to P90X and Insanity at 5am every morning. We have taken the pre-workout mix called Fuzion K-akg from Nutrishop. The fruit punch flavor is great, but the product has more fillers in it compared to Jack3d. It gives great energy and you get an overall great feeling without the crash. This has creatine and caffeine in it.
Jack3d we have as well. It gives energy, but makes my ears tingle a lot. It also has creatine and caffeine.
Another pre-workout mix is Insane by Nutrishop. Same feeling as Jack3d, but tastes better. Out of the three Jack3d is least expensive and can be found at www.bodybuilding.com or at any Vitamin Shoppe.
5 Hour Energy - some mornings I just want to take 5 Hour Energy without the Creatine that is in all of the other mixes. This has vitamin B12 and caffiene. Downside to this product is that it is more expensive than the others by serving.
Another site that I like is www.trueprotein.com. Sometimes just taking the amino acid arginine mid-day before a run is all I need.
Bottom line: DO YOUR RESEARCH.0 -
I take Jack3d and it gives me plenty energy before my AM workouts. You definately don't want to take it in the PM as you'll be unable to fall asleep due to all the caffeine in it.0

If you do get it, I would recommend taking it almost like a pill. Put some water in your mouth, pour a scoop and swallow. Rinse and repeat for more than one scoop. That way you won't have to worry about mixing it in a cup and the taste won't be as big a factor.
Although, I have enjoyed both the Grape and Lemon-Lime flavors so far.0
