Hello! I'm Angela, 31, from Louisville, KY. I have been a member at the Y for quite some time but I never go on a regular basis. I went to the doctor for a bladder infection and they weighed me (meany's). It scared me. I'm 5'3 and weigh 221lbs. I've never been this big in my life and how I got this way is confusing. I'm happily married to a wonderful man who can drop 10lbs just by saying he wants to. My children are 18 months and 10 yrs old. I would like to be a more active parent. My son (10) is also over weight and very self conscious. I hate that for him. He has an awesome personality and such a sweet kid. School and sports have been rough but his medication (mood disorder) caused him rapid weight gain. Luckily, he's getting taller and thinning out. I wish I still had a chance to get taller. My daughter (and excuse for having baby weight) is turning 18 months this month and can no longer be called my excuse for being fat. lol She's still cute so I'll keep her anyways. My husband and myself have been having a rough time physically connecting recently and I think it's due to me being so self conscious about how I look now days. He's never said an unkind word to me and never will so I just have to go with what it feels like and it's not good. He deserves better and so do I. I want a work out buddy or at least someone to keep me in check but I'm so scared to disappoint others. I guess I'll start with MFP and see where it leads me. Any suggestions on self encouragement and accountability? Thanks for Listening (err, reading)! Have a great day everyone!

It may seem like you have a long journey ahead, but time FLIES. And it will fly whether you (or anyone else) make good choices or bad choices. Time can fly by and you can realize "Oh crap... I gained more weight," or time can fly and you can realize "Wow! Look how far I've come!" So just keep that in mind and know that a year from now you will be asking yourself where the time went.
I hope everything works out for you and that you reach your goals successfully! Enjoy My Fitness Pal!0
