I need some advise, please help me! I tend to eat to many carbs. Maybe its because its just to easy to find things to eat on a time budget. I know I should plan ahead but Im guilty of slacking and I also dont eat enough healthy fats. So what do you eat to get more fat in your diet and less carbs consumed. Thanks!

nuts of every kind, trailmix is good, mostly avoid fried food and you're on your way. Just because it tastes good doesn't mean you should eat it. Not everything good for you tastes bad.
  • I'm like you, I love the carbs but I have found that sticking to the "right" carbs; example - multigrain bread, basmati rice, quinoa (which also is a good protein source), they fill you up enough since they have more fiber to where you feel satisfied. Good fats believe it or not are the Olive Oil, nut butter's like almond butter. I recently bought some coconut oil to cook with which is also great. Nuts are good too for both good fat and protein source but you just don't want to eat alot of them. Almonds are said to be the best but any nut is better than a sugary carb that will leave you wanting more.

You do like your bread! That would be a good place to start, find a "light" or sugar free bread, or use the "sandwich thins" that are on the market. That on its own would save you 100+ cals per 2 slices or one sandwich thin, and about cut the carbs in half. Another thing to try would be cutting down on the bread and cereal products to maybe 2 meals/snacks instiead of 4-5. Try hot oatmeal instead of the cereal + toast in the mornings. If you are looking to get some good fats, try some eggs and toast in the mornings. The egg yolk has a lot of good fats in it, and put real butter on your toast. When you are cooking use EVO or another non corn oil product. Add some avacado to a salad or sandwich. Almonds are a good portable snack.

    Good Luck!
