I need to take my workouts to the next level. I am currently training for a half marathon and need to "up" my strength training.
Getting bored with my routine, and it's getting a little easy.
Would appreciate any thoughts on P90x, Insanity, Chalean, Brazil Booty Lift.
Thanks in advance

Have not tried BBL. But have tried everything else. If you want strength training, Chalean or P90X is the way to go!
From there, it depends on the intensity. P90X is definately a step ahead of Chalean, but Chalean is still challenging.
Insanity is pretty much all cardio and endurance.
Oh.. time wise, Chalean's workout average about 35 minutes. (Just one is 45 minutes long) + 10-15 minutes of abs. P90X is an hour + 10-15 of abs. I've done both and seen great results with each.0 -
I'll ditto the previous poster...if you need to up your strength training, ChaLean Extreme or P90X is what you need. Personally, I think ChaLean Extreme might be more 'user friendly' with regards to also doing marathon or 1/2 marathon training.0

I agree with TByrd. Hubby and I did 2 rounds of P90X fully (another 1 mixed with a few different programs) and decided to switch it up with ChaLEAN for the New Year. I like Tony and I love the 30 lbs I lost with P90X. But, I really l love Chalene and her workouts. Each workout in the first phase only has 9 exercises, but because she combines lower and upper body at the same time, it is a great workout. Just be prepared to do a lot of lunges and squats.
I am training for a 5K - I'm not much of a runner, and am grateful for working my lower body in all of the DVDs (not done in P90X when you do the upper body workouts).0 -
For Marathon I'd personally go with the P90X (Lean) program0

I'm training for a 5K obstacle course and I run hills. I'm lucky I live in an area where that is possible. I have P90X and haven't really used it yet. I hope to bust it open in the next few weeks.0

I agree that P90X could be too much on top of training for 1/2 marathon. Also, I would recommend anyone to do ChaLean Extreme before P90X to build some base strength. There is some crazy stuff in P90X that I was nowhere near ready for when I did it, (including SO many pullups!), and I feel like I will get more out of P90X after I finish with ChaLean. I also like ChaLean because every workout does upper & lower body, P90X is very focused on upper.
