Returned home from Christmas vacation and found that I'd gained 5 pounds. So, my aim is to lose that in addition to another 15 pounds by the end of February. Fortunately, have lost that unwelcome 5 pounds in the first week since New Years.

    Hi there - wish you good luck! But keep in mind that your goal - 20 lbs - in a little less than 2 months is setting te bar really high. Don't be too hard on yourself or deprive yourself of everything, makes it tougher to stick with good choices.

    Wow, good work on already getting a start on the weight loss.

    I'm new here, too, and my motivation was similar to yours: Finally jumped on the scale after the holidays and found I had gained another five pounds.

    I've been here a week and have been finding this site to be very helpful

    That's a mildly aggressive schedule. If you cut too many calories to meet your goal you may end up losing muscle weight in addition to fat weight. Add in strength training and make sure you get enough protein.
