Good idea for M-Day: Hiking

My son and I don't have plans. (Single mom here.) It's Memorial Day and I don't want to join friends for a picnic, soooo a little mini-hike! I'm waiting for my 3 year old to get his shoes on so we can play at the park. I'm sure the pool will be open tomorrow :p and the kids will be all over the place (a reason why I wouldn't want to go).

But a little mini-hike, or a hike on easier terrain sounds good! I'lll have to research some places tonight. The problem is he grew out of his tennis shoes and his strap-on sandals are what fit at the moment. We are so broke (lost job) that I can't even afford an $8 pair at Wal-Mart, eee!

Anywho, a day at higher elevation certainly gets your heart rate pumping and since I live in the flatirons, I don't have to worry about gas prices.

I HATE GYMS AND EXERCISING.

Before my muffin top mom belly I liked running all right but not anymore. I do have a nifty pair of Eccos. I have epilepsy which totally kills balance re: running and have neuro damage in one leg so I reallly don't run. I can still do bouldering and rock climbing though. That kind of sport is the only fun thing I can think of that is still good exercise.

Well, hiking is free! And it's close by and Judah loves mountains.

He always thinks we're gonna see a cheetah or something. Hehehe. Kids.
