Well, Hello!!!

So, I've been tracking food/exercise for 5 days now...and am just now getting around to posting something in the forums! But I figured it was about time to say hello!
My name is Melissa
I've been overweight since highschool and I'm thinking it's about time to do this thing! I love to exercise, when I can get myself motivated to do it! It's so peaceful! My highest weight has been 230 lbs; my lowest weight has been 178 lbs. I did weight watchers a while back and lost a whole bunch of weight and then ended up losing myself after my papaw died. So here I am again! I'm really glad I found this site! I'd really LOVE to look good in some skinny jeans
I love to cook, so cooking healthy will be easy! As long as I can afford it...I've found that healthier foods cost more! I just opened up my own hair salon in the lovely town of Sylva, NC...so business is still slow and I'm not making much money. Haha, in other words, wish me luck
My goal weight is around 140 lbs but hey, I'd be fine with anything under 170
My husband and I are planning a trip to Hollywood next year and I'd really like to "look good" for it! Also, I really wanna try to join SuicideGirls! But that'll be for future discussions!
So that's about me...I'm not sure what I'm really supposed to say! Oh, and if there's anyone around my area that wants a walking buddy or something, let me know!!! Can't wait to meet people

Hey Melissa, IM a noob too, I have just started with the process of food journaling and its kind of scary. My body very much appreciates it when I work out but Im a lazy little noseminer. I probably just need to suck it up and get a job that MAKES me move my butt!
If you have a new hair salon, may I make a suggestion? BARTER for FOOD! Go to your local co-op and say hey, I would love to cut all your hair once for $X in gift certificates to the store. All I want in return is that you lell three friends where you got to your hair done. Go to the local farmers market, you might be able to make a deal like that. You can take the expense of the haircuts off on your taxes as an advertising expense. It's just a thought. Another thing to do, if you have the time, is make sure you know when your grocery store puts the older produce out for sale. Some stores bag up the older stuff and sell it for less. This is a great way to get things like bananas for smoothies.
Good luck!0
