Fingers Crossed

One of my main problems is that I go out to eat and order out wayyy to much. I would say AT LEAST 5 times a week. Def both saturday and sunday once each day. Then a couple times a week. Now I may not go wayyy over my calories each time but I'm still eating out. My favorite foods are chicken fingers, french fries, buffalo wings...well you get the idea. So part of my New years resolution is to save money and to not eat out nearly as much. I am hoping that by just cutting out the going out to eat will help loose some pounds easily. Because like I said all i get when we go out is fries and chicken fingers and buffalo wings and craaaap.
Does that sound like just cutting that waaaay down will make a big difference? I know it will in my wallet!

YES YES YES YES.
And.. YESSSS!
Stop eating out so much - it'll work wonders!!0 -
I hear you loud and clear. As a matter of fact I just came back from Pizza Delight with my wife and daughter for a Friday treat lunch.
I agree with Molly ... cutting back is the way to go. An " eating out " treat once a week for sure is fine but everyday is too much I think. .. like you I LOVE to eat out but cutting back and regulating your intake is one of your keys to success.
good luck ... Robbie0 -
yes, and you can always try making homemade versions of what you like at home. I bought the rocco despirito book (probably mispelled his name)- but there are healthy ways to make your fast food favs for less calories and less money and you get to eat it too! :-)0

My husband and I eat at restaurants way too much too! It is definitely a downfall of mine. I try to pick things that are healthier, but sometimes I just give in to things like pasta
my favorite. Lately, I've been using my crock pot a lot so that I am cooking at home, saving money and calories. But, it tends to go in waves for me:grumble: I'm right there with ya~

My advice - bring your LUNCH!!
I have found that I eat WAY better when I actually take the time to pack a lunch for work and it saves me money too!
I've also had the most success losing weight when I pack a lunch as well.
I remind myself that saving money is a good thing and truthfully I like being in control of what I eat each day. It makes me feel better when I know that I am able to control my calorie intake as well.
Good Luck!!0 -
Well on Monday it will be 7 days of not eating out!0

Instead of having bufflo wings I cook a skinless boneless chicken breast and DIP that into a bufflo sauce. It is just as good as the wings with out all of the calories. Fries ---I slice a potaoe into strips or wedges and pour abit of italain dressing over the potaoes with a bit of water and bake. They are yummy
Just a few ideas

I struggle with the same issues as you! Its so easy to just go out to eat or order out, especially when you worked a long day and are exhausted. I have cut down a lot on going out to eat, to save money and to eat healthier. I cook a lot at home, get recipes sent to my email address everyday...the ones I think sound good, I print and put in a binder. You can sign up for email recipes on bettycrocker.com and kraftrecipes.com. The recipe alerts I get are not that bad for you and are really easy to make. I also try to make a couple dinners a week that can be saved for lunches too, so that saves money and time as well!
Hang in there, I definitely get the no money, trying to lose weight thing. Its an endless battle!!0
