Daily calories?

So the site tells me that I should be eating 2110 calories a day to lose weight, but I'm finding that on any given day I usually eat less than that without even trying. And well, I haven't exactly been losing weight. Any thoughts? Should I change the amount I'm trying to eat?

That does seem like a lot. What are your weekly weight loss goals? Mine is 2lbs a week and my daily calorie goal is 1200.0

curious...on any given day, are you weighing and measuring and inputting the information so that you know exactly how many calories you are consuming. If it touches your lips, you have to count it. Sometimes people are surprised once they start weighing and measuring every ingredient added to a recipe or measuring your low fat baked chips instead of just grabbing a hand full.
I would try measuring and weghing every item and keeping track of everything that comes across your lips for a few days and see where you stand then.
If you really are coming under that, then could it be that you need to eat that many calories thatt they are telling you just so you do lose weight, cuz your body may think it is in starvation, possibly. Also, do eat often, every 3 hours or so. it keeps the metabolism going.0 -
That does seem high. Where do you have your activity level set? My daily intake is 1200cal. That was with a starting weight of 191 and sedentary job (I spend most of my day at my desk) but then the rest chasing around my 19month old.0

Yeah, when I first started losing, that's what these online sites said too. But that's way too high for what my BMR was at that time. I think that's actually pretty common the more you weigh and the less in shape you are.
I had my RMR (similar to BMR) tested and I adjusted the online sites so that it calculated my BMR to be in line with what my RMR was and then it did a better job at guesstimating my calories.
As I started to weigh less and get more fit, I found the formulas became off the other way. If I ate as little as MFP said I should, I'd be skin and bones. I can maintain my weight loss with 200 more calories a day than MFP thinks I can because now it's got my BMR calculated too low.0
