How many people on here do this diet? I am starting a 12 week cardio weight training program and I am also doing this CDK keto diet to get rid of this fat. I almost at healthy BMI but I am what they call almost skinny obese(meaning healthy BMI but a lot of body fat)I am 5"4' and weigh 150lbs but have a body fat of 30%. So I have researched what to do and body builders really know their stuff, they do this for a living and I at first did not want to believe that this could work but all the studies show that their is nothing wrong with this. For me this will not be a lifetime thing but to get rid of the rest of this fat I can do it and I know for later what my body can use for macros and what it cannot handle. Just wanted to know a day of what you are eating if you are doing this diet thanks, I added the link if others want to look at it.

I am not sure if you are serious, but if so, a ketogenic diet is no different functionally than any standard restricted calorie diet... it's hardly the magic pill it's cracked out to be.
That said, if you want to try it out your meals will comprise largely of the following: 80/20 ground beef, cheeses, steaks, bacon, olive oil, eggs. I would also suggest you check with a doctor beforehand and get a full physical, particularly to determine your current cholesterol level and get an accurate bodyfat measurement.0 -
Yes thanks you I have takin that into consideration. My levels are great, they never used to be but losing 113 lbs makes a difference. Yes this diet looks like it is not much and their is no magic pill I used to think that but never again hard work and determination and of corse I day at a time. I have noticed in my months of weight loss what effects my body the most and of course it's simple carbs and dairy I cannot handle much of it so this is a good way for me I think and if it don't work out that way well then it don't. At this point I listen to my body and take cues from it as to what it likes and does not . Thanks for the advice.0

Understood. For what it's worth, I am a fan of ketogenic diets and I used one in my most recent weight loss cycle (from roughly 175 lbs to 150 lbs). The one big downside, in my opinion, is that if your fat loss stalls or plateaus then you are stuck because there is little you can do to give it a boost again.
In a traditional diet, for example, you might try lowering the calories or reducing carbs. In a ketogenic diet you are already at the floor-minimum for both. That is why I am a little surprised; most people switch to CKD or TKD when they are at the very end of their fatloss goals (i.e., 5-10 lbs remaining) or when they are preparing for bodybuilding competitions.
The second, less obvious, downside is that it is expensive and you may find yourself low on fats. Not a lot of foods have sufficient levels of unsaturated fats... and you may have second thoughts when you find yourself chugging olive oil out of the bottle.
If your cholesterol levels are fine now, then best of luck to you! I would still recommend that you get them checked out halfway through your plan (6 weeks?) since not everyone responds the same to a sudden increase in dietary fat... and ultimately, your health must come first.0
