My first week and I'm encouraged

Hi all!

I started on here this week and am so thankful for having found it. It has been very helpful to track what I'm eating (I'm doing a low-carb plan) and my exercise. I need something I can stick with for a long time, and I really feel like I've found it.

It's great to have a community of people who are also trying to get healthy, and some who have a long way to go like I do.

I lost almost 7 pounds this week, and while I know it probably won't keep up at this rate, I am very encouraged. I have a lot to lose (100+ pounds). But if I keep going, I will be healthy before I know it!

Best to all of you in your own efforts.

Good luck! If you lose it slowly it's more likely to stay off!
  • You really are doing great! I know it can be overwhelming thinking about how much you have to lose, but if you take it one day at a time before you know it you will have months behind you. I still have at least 50 pounds to lose (then once I get there probably more). I am so happy I found this site as well. It's great to find people that are having the same struggles as you. I have been doing this since mid August and have no thoughts of giving up. It really is something I can stick with :)

    Hi Katie,

I started last Saturday myself as well. My husband and I are doing a low carb type of plan as he is a diabetic and I am pre-diabetic. We've cut out all processed foods and things like potatoes, rice, pasta.

I had a big loss this week, but I am pretty sure it's a combination of water and the fact that I was on my cycle much of the week and I always retain more water than ever during that time. I know it's going to slow down some and I am ok with that. Slow and steady wins the race, right? :-)

But I must say, it's so encouraging to see a loss of any kind when you are first starting. I took have 100+ lbs to loose.

    Good luck to you!
    Erin
