Sugar-Free, Fake-Sugar-Free, Chewing Gum?

I want a chewing gum that has no sugar nor fake sugars. I have an oral fixation and if I get too bored I start chewing on the inside of my cheeks if I have no food nearby. I usually just chew on Dubble Bubble but that has high fructose corn syrup in it. I refuse to chew gum that has fake sugars in it (like aspartame) because I've heard terrible things about many fake sugars and they just don't taste right to me. I'd much rather just have a flavorless gum that can be chewed for a long time. I was entertaining the idea of a pacifier or a silicone/acrylic mouthguard but it has to be something I can use comfortably at work without people staring.

  • On the topic of chewing gum - I was told by a nutrionalist that it can impede weight loss. She said that chewing gum activates your salivary glands, which in turn activates digestion and can make you feel hungry or tend to overeat. It's also bad for your jaw to have that constant motion. Just thought I'd share!

I've never found gum to increase my appetite, and I salivate plenty as it is due to the "chewing my cheek" habit. I did stumble across Glee Gum, which might be worth a try. While it does have a small amount of sugar, it doesn't have any artificial crap in it. This includes no sugar alcohols, no aspartame, no left-handed sugar, just plain old sugar cane.

Well, I just got a small box from World Market and apparently I'm allergic to beeswax, which I've long suspected. Oh well. It's weird because I can have honey with no problem. I am allergic to every pollen under the sun, though.
