Water weight more than likely. Keep in mind that anyone's weight, but particularly women, can fluctuate up to 5 pounds a day from water weight, body waste, etc. Give yourself a couple of days and you'll probably see it disappear as fast as it came.0

Don't ask me, this happens to me CONSTANTLY! I guess this is why you probably shouldn't weigh yourself every day. I have a hard time not weighing every day though, because if I DO lose, it is really motivating! Plus I want to make sure I don't get out of control for the rest of the week. But, maybe we should wait a while. . . .it could have been water weight, time of day, anything really.
CONGRATS! On at least 1 lb though! That's better than I can do!:flowerforyou:0 -
Thanks for your comments but i know that is not "the time of the month" coz i went through the menopause when i was 32.........9 years ago !!!!!!!! But a pound is a pound at least.

I don't know about menopause yet, but I'm sure as a woman, you still retain water easily - right? I have a scale that measured my water weight % and love it, you can get them pretty cheaply now if you think it might help, it has me.0

I wasn't referring to "that time of month" either. We can retain fluid on any given day.0

Thanks all most appreciated !

I used to wegh myslef like everyday and I noticed the same thing you did.....I would lose and two days later be up a 1/2 pound or so. I titally agree that it is water weight, if you eat salty foods that will hinder you has well because you will retain more fluids.0

heyy i weigh myself every day i know ive been told not too but i feel that if i do i will be holding myself accountable. It will also prevent me fro binge eating at night so i weigh myself before bed i am usually anywere from 2 to 3.5 lbs heavier at this time but its all in the normal to me. well todays weigh is yet another .5 of a pound lost in now lets see almost 4.5 months sincei started. Good luck everyone!0

Pamela... 1lb is GREAT!!!!! If you've seen 2.5 lbs gone, and you haven't over eaten, you probably have not gained that weight back... I would figure that weight has been lost! You are probably retaining fluid.
I have had weeks where I lost nothing, and then the next week 2 or 3 lbs!
CONGRATS on the loss, whether it be 1 lb or 2.5lbs!
Great work sticking to your calories!

You could try and reduce your fat content if its high. Only within whatever limits are set for your weight/height etc. though or its a short term measure.
The body is notoriously stubborn and screams to keep the weight on when you start dieting. Keep at it and re-evaluate after 3/4 weeks if the problem persists. Doing some exercise in the first part of the day speeds the metabolism up and your body stands a better change of burning more calories as your body mass changes to a higher muscle consistency.
I weighed myself on a friend's scales 2 weeks ago and nearly died. So I went out and bought a new one and stick to the weight on it. Same is true for scales of food - they don't always work accurately.
