Ok.. I have been struggling with my weight all my life.. I guess there was a time when i was THIN but it was short and brief... My goal is to loose 108 lbs total... I stared on here about a month and a half ago and then just 3 weeks ago i also joined weight watchers... (NEEDED MORE MOTIVATIION) And to my suprise i am down 13 lbs so far... I dont see it.. but my boyfriend does.. The reason for my post is it has been extreamly difficult... Going out to eat, eatting at others houses buying food and being told WHY"S IT SO EXPENSIVE.... I actually start gettin snotty towards people becasue I want to change how I eat and what i look like. Giiving up pop and candy was the biggest thing i did.. I am one who could polish off an entire bag of receess... MY FAV... or drink a 12 pk of pop in two days.. diet pop to my suprise is even worse to drink so i gave that up too... once in a while i will have crystal light just for some flavor...

DOes anyone else have these problems.

when u buy food... people say here just buy this its cheaper
why do you have to have fruit
why vegtables
what no pop
cant you just have somemore
dont you like it

I mean come on people.....

well thats my news update and how im keeping on track .... hope everyone else is doing great

I'm glad that you're doing well!

My main weight loss obstacle is the hubby. He is always bringing me home ice cream, calling me from McDonalds saying "what do you want?" I have no self control, so that makes it hard. The only reason i'm able to be successful is because he is gone. Hopefully I will be able to stick to things when he gets back. And of course, when we have a party at work and I pass up the cake, they give me crap, usually saying "you don't need to worry about your weight" or "oh, Tina wants to be a skinny b**ch". People suck, but ultimately it's my responsibility to do what I need to do to be healthy.

Keep up the good work, and when people say crap to you, just smile politely and say "no, thank you" or, "I feel better then I have in years, so it's worth it to me" You know you are doing what you need to do to be healthy, no one elses opinion matters.

Stick up for yourself! It is YOUR body and YOUR health. Depending on who it is, tell them it's none of their business, or tell them you really want to be healthy and live a long life. I'm sorry people around you aren't more supportive. :grumble: Be strong!

I am SO proud of you. Candy, soda, etc is so bad for you...garbage! No vitamins, just sugar and fat. Okay, it tastes good, but after a couple weeks of healthier diet, that stuff starts to taste weird. I drank a soda that tasted a lot like chemicals after I didn't have it for awhile.

    Keep it up! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

I'm not entirely positive, but I think certain vitamins will make the carbonate in soda taste bad. Maybe that'll help he he he :)

Is it the caffeine you want or the flavor?

Anyway, GOOD JOB!!! 13 lbs! Keep on rockin'!

Another good way to help burn off some cals is to go for a light walk after dinner - nothing heavy. Just a rope around the block. And maybe get in some chat time with the boyf. :)

    Plus it helps with digestion.

PS I also think WW may be good for you because studies show it helps in the long term. Also, you seem to like sweets and things (we all do) and that helps because with "points" you can go "Oh, I just subtract from my daily total" etc. and with the meetings you get support!

    Good luck!! =)

i just wanted to say that i know what it is like to have family that just doesnt understand my husband is not the most sensitive guy at all but once he saw how happy i was getting and then the benefits of my increased energy he now sometime reminds me to stick with it,

just remember if it is something you want --just do it!!!!

as for the price of diet stuff ya it sucks but just look for the deals and buy as much produce you can when it is in season, tell people that your life is worth it!!!!!

i like diet green tea and diet white tea and i drink alot of fresh brewed tea i dont like water much so i have to doctor it w/ crystal light.

stay tough and keep up the good work remember YOU ARE WORTH IT!!

I understand. My hubby is too. He eats terrible and a lot of it. When he is gone I'm fine but it's when he returns. I'm seeing some results in myself. About 10 lbs down. But I've put in 70 since marrying him. I use to be so fit.

I'm hoping my good habits wear off on him and not his bad habits on me anymore

Wonderful job losing 13 pounds! I have a husband and teenage son that would constantly say,"what, no cookies?" after dinner was done. I just couldn't buy them anymore, they were totally sabotaging my diet. Then I started cooking a little healthier with a lot more veggies....they seemed to like that. Last night my husband tells me, "you know, we eat pretty good". So eventually the two of them have come around to "enjoying" eating healthier. It is very, very hard when you don't get that support at home. Good for you that you used better food choices at the BBQ. Once people see your serious they usually start to back off a bit.

I love to say "I couldn't eat another bite!" That has not been true all my life but usually people don't insist when you respond with that. If you are full, you don't need any more food.
