I have been doing this excrise and counting calories thing for a week is it normal not to loose weight and gain a little at first?

Sometimes yes. If you were a meal skipper like I was you may now be eatting more than you did before while you are ramping up your metabolism. Once your body adjusts it will come off.0

It is normal. Your exercise builds muscle and muscle weighs more than fat, so even as the fat comes off and is replaced by muscle, the weight initially increases. The bottom line is the numbers, if you bring in less calories than you burn, you will lose fat; and that is the goal, to lose fat. In time, the scale will indicate this, but even before you "see" the results, you will begin to feel them. Keep it up, and best wishes.0
