I am starting my new year by getting back into shape. I struggled losing weight after I gained 60 lbs when pregnant with my first child in 2008, and now after having my 2nd child, I am motivated to get back into shape so I can be the best mom possible for my active children. I would love any recipes that have been helpful to you guys, because that is where I struggle. Coming up with healthy recipes that my family will enjoy, and that will help me lose the 75 lbs that I am aiming for.

Hi, I have lost over 100lbs so far and working on the last 15... I do lots of veggies and fruit.. and eggs, fish and beef just stay away from oil if you can.. and eat every 2 hrs.. I carry fruit and nuts at all times to snack on and it works.. odd.. but I do eat more now and have lost because of my eating habit changes..
  • Hi Tricia,
I'm fairly new to this too. I tried doing all these weird recipes that weren't of food I liked, i learned that it can almost be easier to cook the same foods you love and ate before but in a healthier way. Instead of butter use small amounts of olive oil, cooking spray, Smart Balance, even low sodium chicken broth works with most foods. Use low fat cheese, or skip the cheese, etc. Its more about cutting out the bad choices and still finding a way to have the food you love so you never feel deprived. You have to be creative and relearn how to cook your favorite meals. Also a big thing for me i learned is portion control. Fill in with lots of veggies instead of a lot of meat and carbs.
  • i thought olive oil, conola oil etc were good for us?
