Hi I live in Maui and I'm a Zumba instructor. I started exercising doing Zumba March 16, 2010 at the whopping weight of 265, I got myself all the way down to 198 within like 6 months of doing Zumba and eating right... But when I dropped under that 200 pound mark I felt so sick and out of it, so I decided it was time to to stop dieting but I kept on exercising.. Wait I forgot to say that inbetween that time I became a certified Zumba instructor, just from being a student because I loved this exercise and realized at 41 this was the only exercise that I could lose this much weight and have as much fun as I was having.
So around November I stopped losing weight and I maintained my weight from 198 to 205 till about mid December, them OMG holdidays and candy I went berzek, everytime I passed the table I was shoving something in my mouth, I wasn't exercising as usually because students weren't coming too, they were celebrating the holidays, before I new it the new year rolled around and I weighed in at 212..
That was it I refused to let myself to gain anymore, so I got a new phone and was searching apps and found this one by chance and saw that I could count calories.. Wow interesting so I signed up.. Just post all the food I'm eating and it seemed easy enough, put in my goal of losing 100 pounds in 1 year, so I got 3 months to do it, drop 42 pounds, hey thats my birthday age this year.
So now I'm playing around with the tools and receipe and I'm loving this site, I just punched in what I'm making for dinner tonight and it totally looks like I'lll beat my 1200 calorie diet today and I'm excited, I just have to stay away from the snacks or throw in an extra exercise if I want to eat one tonight..
This website is cool and in 3 months if I can get those 42 pounds off, I will be spokes person for myfitnesspal.com if they'll have me..
Wish Me Luck,

Zumba"queen" ..lol
I too am amazed with this site! I came here a few months back after seeing the incredible transfomation of familygirl37167 (tamara) on the "joyfit club" while working out at the gym. (thanks family girl..never knew it existed until you mentioned it)
It wasn't until recently that I realized all that this site has to offer. And the incredible support that is only fingertips away. Everyone is here for the same reason..whether big or small goal... the key to all our goals is what lies within us..do we want it enough to do it? Are we willing to work hard and give it all we have even if we "think" we have no more to give? To achieve the possible when the possible seems impossible!
Well, my friend..I wish you and the many others here the best of luck in achieving your goals. This is.... "my year" and I hope it is your "my year" as well!
Hope to read your success story on the message board
All the best
