I don't have a sweet tooth, but I do have a salty tooth? lol. I eat a lot of processed foods because I'm not a big fan of spending a lot of time in the kitchen and usually go for quick and easy. Since joining MFP and tracking my sodium, I realized I have been eating WAY, WAY too much sodium. I had no idea because I never even add table salt to anything. So, I finally decided that I have to get over my dislike of cooking (cause I CAN cook, just don't LIKE to) and cook more from scratch and eliminate some processed foods. So this is my first time posting a recipe. Yea! My kids and I liked it, hope at least one of you do too!! :) Of course you don't have to use exact brands and recipes can always be tweaked to your liking, but this is what I used.

Jennie-O - Ground Turkey Breast, 20 oz (1 package)
Green bell pepper- 1 chopped (minus seeds, of course)
Yellow Onion- 2 slices chopped (about 1/4" thick)
Muir Glen Organic Tomatoes, Diced No Salt Added- 4 cans
Meijer Select Chili Beans, Mild- 1 can (Already had and didn't want to waste, but will look for low sodium option next time!)
Chili Powder- To taste
Garlic Powder- To taste
Black Pepper- To taste
Mrs. Dash-Garlic & Herb- To taste

*NOTE* For the nutritional info I logged 2 Tbsp. chili powder, 1 Tbsp. Garlic Powder, and 1 Tbsp. Pepper. (Mrs. Dash has no nutritional value other than potassium and I barely used it, so I didn't log it) I didn't use that much, but I didn't measure exactly and added to taste so I overestimated rather than underestimating. :) Plus you may want to change the spices up.

You will need a large pot. Brown the turkey (just like you would cook ground beef) in the pot. No need to drain grease because the turkey is 99% fat free and there is none! Add in the green peppers and onions when the turkey is close to being done so they cook a little to bring out the flavor. I also sprinkled a little chili powder on the turkey while it was cooking, but you can wait to do all of your seasoning at the end if you want. When the turkey is fully cooked add in the beans and tomatoes. I pureed 1 can of tomatoes so that the chili wasn't too thick, but that's also up to you. Then add in your spices to taste. (Start off small and add little bits at a time. You can always add, but can't take it out once it's in!)

Nutritional Value- 1 cup serving (Made 9 cups)

Those are the ones showing in my diary. If you need to know a specific value that's not listed, let me know and i'll post it.
