I incorporate 6 meals a day. I do 2400 cals but I also burn about a 1,000 a day in exercise. The rule of thumb is 3 snacks of 150 cals a day and 3 meals a day for the rest of your calories. Make sure you underestimate and you should hit your goals. I always drink 16 ounces of water before I eat so I make sure im hungry and not thirsty. It really helps. I hope this helps. Congratulations on your impending wedding.
I have found from past weight loss that 5 small meals worked wonders for me. At the time I still liked to eat my two or three big meals and I couldn't stick with it.
I have readjusted my eating in the last couple days and have been eating small snacks and have found that I am feeling great and I'm already loosing fat denisty.
I truely believe snacking is the best way rev the fat burning machine.
Good luck and stay strong on your weight loss journey.

thanks guys... so to recap i see it is eating snacks between meals that are around 150 calories (or less) each. And dividing the rest of the calories to meals. WATER WATER WATER!0

Congrats on your wedding! I got married in Vegas Christmas 2009, and it was the best thing we could have done. So relaxing and exactly what we wanted! Our families said the ceremony was beautiful so it's not all Elvis impersonators and $20 in chip comps (like in the movies or tv shows).
A snack between meals really helps weight loss -- as long as it's a good snack of 100-150 calories. I try to add some protein to all mine (like if I have an apple, I'll add a tbsp of peanut butter or some cheese with crackers or grapes). I don't know if it's because the body sees this steady stream of food and knows it's ok to release some of the fat in deposits or just increases metabolism or what, but it really seems to work!
Good luck! And don't worry about showing up in Vegas and realizing that you've forgotten something -- I forgot my shoes and my husband forgot a white dress shirt and we bought both on Christmas morning at the Miracle Miles mall (at PH).0 -
AW thanks so much... quick follow up question... if i am not hungry MUST i stick to eating a snack??? or is it ok to do a light snack when i am feeling hungry... for example i had a bagel for breakfast, that is filling i am not too hungry yet.. but shouldi still eat a snack?
I cant wait to go to Vegas, and I am trying to explain to my fiance it is not all drive thru wedding chapel we can do something very nice with photos that is inexpensive (like 300 a package). I am going to make him sit down and talk to me about this LOL0 -
I'm in maintenance now and so I have a lot more wiggle room, but I still find this true from the the "diet" phase of my journey. If I eat ever 2 hours, I make better choices. If I get "hungry" I start to make bad choices. So I ate my snacks very dutifully. I also try to go back to eating every two hours if I'm in a munchie time of the month, it really helps me.
Good luck on your journey and congratulations on the grand journey of marriage.0 -
