reducing body fat %

Thanls to MFP I have seen weight goals that I never thought I would :bigsmile: However, I am still unhappy with my body fat %. It has certainly been reduced along with my weight loss, just not enough to suit me.
I was wondering if there was a way to concentrate on lowering this without necessarily worrying about losing weight? Please bear in mind that I am 60 years old with various bone and joint problems and chronic pain, so intense workouts are not an option. I am, however, an active person, just somewhat limited in energy.
Is there a way to do this without just continuing calorie restriction and weight loss?

Try water aerobics. It will give you a lot more of the resistance while being a lot easier on your joints.0

You can always reduce fat % by building muscle. Do you have the option to visit a physical therapy center? They can help you set up a home exercise program that will focus on your goals and allow you to work within your personal restrictions. Even just one good evaluation with them would be enough if you have access and can afford it. Resistance bands might work really well for you because they are gentle muscle builders, as is water exercise. Anything with gentle resistance to build muscle will probably work for you. I bet the water exercise would actually help a lot with the chronic pain as well. Good luck!0
