Kaiser roll vs hamburger bun?

Before our Memorial Day cookout we went to Sam's to pick up hamburger buns. My husband suggested we get Kaiser rolls instead - they are about the same size as buns but are a lot fluffier and lighter.

Much to my surprise, various calorie databases list them as having more cals than the buns! They aren't buttery and they are definitely lighter in weight and texture.... so what gives?? Anyone know why this is or if it's even true?

I looked up a few nutriton facts and recipes. It seems that higher calorie kaiser rolls have more eggs than hamburger buns, which can up the calorie count. I guess it all depends on the recipe, I found a wide range from 120-290 calories!
