We went for a snow hike on Saturday and the difference between last year and now is amazing. This time last year I was huffing and puffing up the mountain and stopping every 20 feet to catch my breath and rest. I could not have finished this entire trail at all. Saturday, I only stopped to shed clothing and get water. I kept my boyfriend's pace which surprised the crap out of him. We went the full 5.5 trail and it felt great! This gives me great hope for the summer and backpacking season. I want to be able to go a lot further with that 30 lb pack on my back. I love the feeling that my hard work is paying off.
My weight loss is not where I wanted it to be but I think I have to stop worrying about that so much because my major reasoning to be fit is to be better at all the things I love to do. The weight loss will come with it naturally. It has to when you burn 1500 calories in one hike!

That is AMAZING! Good for you! I totally get it. Being able to enjoy activities because I'm physically fit is an amazing benefit of this lifestyle. The more I enjoy moving my body, the more I WANT to move my body. It's a slippery slope.
