I completed C25K last April and have since fallen out of running. A couple of weeks ago I got on the treadmill to see if I could still run the 5K and I could, so I set myself a new goal - 10K. I'm now doing the Ease into 10K program. Anyone else trying to run 10K?

A 10k sounds like a great goal for you right now! I'm signed up for a 10k race on May 1st. It will be my 1st 10k - I did two 5k's last year and then kinda fell out of running too, but have gotten back into running the last month or so. I encourage you to find a 10k race to sign up for that occurs around the end of your 10k program. I know for me that helps keep me on track, knowing that I've paid the non-refundable fee and am signed up.

I've made my own training schedule for the next 4 months. I decided not to do the 10k version of C25K - I'm doing a 10k prep program that is more comprehensive - it's focused on my total needs rather than just the running. My program is 4 running days a week - one short distance, two medium and one long. Between now and the end of April I'll be increasing my long-distance run from 3.5 to 7 miles. In addition to the 4 running days I have one day of only strength training/stretching and one day that's cross training (other cardio besides running/jogging), plus one rest day.

Day 1 of week 2... Could it be possible Ive already hit a 'plateau' because it seems harder than the other days this morning

I was a long-distance runner when I was in college ; now a few years later and with a child (4 months old) it seems much harder to get back on track than it was before.... but I am very much determined and plan to run my first 10k in May.

I will look up the Ease into 10k program. I basically went from my couch to the threadmill without much preparation (bought just yesterday a great New Balance pair of shoes designed for runners) so maybe I will investigate other ways to support me in this project.

By the way, here's where I got the basics for my 10k training plan - I've tweaked it to meet my needs (rearranged days, lengthened the program, etc.)

I just signed up for my first 10K also. I did 2 5K's last year. I plan on running at least one more 5K before my 10K on May 1. I haven't decided what plan to follow but I'll be checking out some of the ones listed here. Thanks for the info!

I would like to do this but the end of my program would be in the middle of winter :( Maybe I can find one for early Spring. Thanks for the suggestion!

I have finished week 1 and 2 (had to take a week off because of a death in the family). I'm looking forward to week 3!

I'm also a C25K graduate and now on week 2 of B210K. Week one was really tough but so far I'm finding week 2 a lot easier. I listened to an audio book during last nights run, and boy did that work! I was so focused on the book i barely noticed i was running!
