We just heard our first crack of thunder a few minutes ago..It went to being bright and sunny out to really dark and windy..enough to send my kids flying in the house! hahaha!

I don't hate them at all, in fact I find them kind of fascinating...

BUT, when a crack of thunder suddenly booms overhead without warning....it just scares me! My heart was racing for 10 minutes!

Uh Oh...the skies here are looking pretty ominous....it's so scary living in the midwest during tornado season.

We have had None Stop thunderstorms in the Midwest for almost a week. One day last week in fact, I was locked in my house because of one.
Power went out because of a close hit, and the garage door is on a motor that is run on electric.
Not that big a deal if it is one of the newer doors that is light. But NO, ours was made in the 1970s when they used a Very VERY heavy HEAVY wood. Not to mention that this is a 2 car plus garage.
And I was the only one home at the time.
I called My Manly man to ask what I was to do and he ran me through the release of the garage door from the motor and THEN he said.
"OK Now do you see the car jack next to the wall? Stick that under the lip of the door and crank it up as FAR as it will go. That MIGHT give you enough leverage to open it. If not, you are going to have to call in today."

Well, It did and even though it was very heavy I DID manage to lift it on my own, and get out the door and go to work. I did feel good about the fact that I could do that with such a heavy door.
Almost 400 pounds. So this working out has OTHER benifits as well as health! :laugh: :happy:

You think?? That would be cool huh?? Burn calories for being scared half to death!!

I can't imagine what it's like in tornado country!!! Trust me, I will take a thunderstorm any day over what you have to deal with!

lol same happened here girl...only we were driving home...talk about scaredy-cat city LOL....

My son loved going through the big puddles (my truck makes big waves lol) but as soon as it came it stopped and more sun?! oh well not complaining!...hope yours goes fast too!!

or as my son says when we play the princess in the tower (he's the prince guess who gets to be the princess:blushing: yay!!!) "I will save you!"

We had one last night. My 5 year old was so afraid, doesn't help that I'm deathly afraid of storms, that he crawled into bed with us last night where he slept until this morning.

I'm weird too. I miss living in the midwest. Born and raised in Missouri, lived in Iowa, Kansas and Illinois. Lots of adrenaline during tornado season.
