Visualisation techniques

About 6 years ago I day a 1 day life coaching thing and one element was a visualisation technique which really helped my weight loss. It was about stepping into that person (me but smaller wearing specific clothes at a specific event) and I really found it a powerful driver. It stays with me today but very faded.

I would love to use the technique again but am not certain of what I did to make it so powerful.

Does anyone else have experience of using these tools and can you point me in the right direction. Anything good on Youtube?

    There's an amazing book called "Creative Visualization" By Shakti Gawain that I personally love.
    It has lots of creative visualization techniques to help you keep your mind focused on what you want for yourself and the quality of life you want.

    I also find meditation really helpful as well.
