New from ALBERTA , Looking for advice and motivation

Hi all! I joined months ago, but only started using the site recently. I am a married mom with two young children. After both children I was able to get back to pre-pregnancy weight, but it has inched up since to a place I have never been before (without being pregnant). 172 - ACK! I knwo I have been focusing on my kids and not taking care of myself AT ALL! I need to start taking care of myself - then I ca take better care of them!

I find that I am lacking the motivation and energy to really play with them! I don't want to turn into a mom that parents from the couch! I am also worried about my health. I have hypothyroidism and recently my medication has been increased to the point that it will have a negative impact on my heart. I am hopeful that by exercsing and reducing my weight, I might be able to get the dose reduced again! I used to run 10 K races. I didn't love running, but it kept me feeling healthy! I would like to get back into doing that. I have joined the gym and have started dancing with the WII with my kids at home! THEY LOVE IT!!!

My other motivator (much more superficial) is that my husband and I are planning a trip to Mexico in March, and I want to feel comfortable in a bikini! I don't know if that is possible. But we will soon see!

So far, I am loving the site. I have already learned so much about my bad eating habits just from tracking my food! I am proud of my initial progress and hope to be able to keep it up! If anyone out there has any advice, or suggestions would love to hear! Also, if you connect with my story, feel free to add me as a friend and we support one another!
