I am only able to fit strenght training in twice a week and I know some is better than none but what happens if I cut it out all together? When I first started my weight loss journey 3 years ago I did weight training and cardio 5 times a week but my schedule has changed and I can't fit it in more than twice a week. I just started up again last week so I have no idea of the affects of my workout plan now.

I do yoga with a lot of aerobics, so I get both strength training and cardio with every workout. Really helps if you are on a tight timeline.

I do more cardio than strength as I LOVE TO RUN...but I make sure I do at least 2-3 days where I incorporate strength into my workout...even if just 10 minutes..ie after a run I will pick up my 8 or 10 lb handweights and go through a series of upper body exercises..I also find circuit training workouts with strength incorporated are a great way to achieve both

Check this out! http://blog.cybexintl.com/?Tag=Arc+Trainer If you do HIIT training with the legs you can cut out leg workouts and build muscle! Work smart

If you're tight on time, you may want to look into a circuit-training routine. This combines strength and cardio where you're doing quick bursts of various activities, one after another, without a break. Ex: do weight machine #1 (low reps, high weight) then 60 seconds of jumping jacks, then weight machine #2 then 60 seconds of pushups then weight machine #3 then 60 seconds of lunges... you get the picture. I've never done it myself but I've heard good things about it. You can probably find routines/plans if you do a little research.
