I had control on Thanksgiving. By Christmas & New Years, I was enjoying the Egg Nog, having a christmas cookie here & there, and throwing back the wine as if it were water! Ok,not like water. I'm not a lush. However I DID participate in the festivities.
So the result off my temporary madness was a weight gain of 8 pounds. So subtract that from my total 18 lbs loss and I've gained almost half of it back.
We all slip up sometimes but I'm really disappointed with myself. It took a lot of hard work to lose that weight!
But I'm not going to beat myself up that bad. Just thinking about how much I set myself back is giving me the motivation I need to make sure i don't spiral out of control like that again.
So from my trial and error,i have a few lessons learned. One: if you're going to treat yourself, don't overdo it.if your like me, you're instinct is going to say "if you pick up one more cookie, you're overdoing it!" Listen to yourself.don't pick up the cookie. Two: don't ever put yourself in the mindset of "well I lost 20 lbs. It wouldn't hurt if I gain 2 or 3." It will turn out to be a snowball effect! Three: this one is most important to me. If you're counting calories like me, don't go a single meal without tracking those calories!
Well now that I have come back to earth, I'm back for good....at least until next Christmas.lol (joke)

Off to lose some more weight!
