Hello, I just started using MFP when I got my droid2 last weekend. However I am really enjoying it. I feel like I am really able to stay on track, and have actually turned down food just because I didn't feel like logging it. I can't wait to start working out so that I will be able to use the full potential of this website.
Now a little about me. I just turned 30 on 12/31/10 and I work full time. I have 3 kids and a loving supportive husband. I used to think that just so long as he found me attractive that it didn't really matter what I looked like. However I realized that it doesn't matter what I look like it really comes down to how I feel. And I wasn't feeling good about myself. I was diagnosed with an inner ear condition called Menieres Disease in Feb 2010 and the only treatment for it is a low sodium diet. So I start drinking the Atkins shakes and I lost 30lbs.
I was 286.2 and considering gastric bypass (insurance wouldn't cover it) so that was a bust. Then once I was diagnosed and started drinking the shakes and lost the first 20 lbs, I realized that it was possible to do this on my own. I gained self confidience as I lost weight and it felt good. I still have alot to go, I want to get back down to where I was when I first met my husband (195 lbs), it's still not a healthy weight for my height but it's a start at least.
Looking forward to making a lot of new friends
