Exercise = extra calories = weight gain!

I know my issue! I am snacking too much on cinnamon almonds, eggo waffles, and peanut butter! I just get sooo hungry from my exercise, have all these extra calories (i don't even eat all of what i estimate) and i choose to indulge in my cravings. I created a snack size bag of almonds to know how many i am eating. They are only healthy if you eat so many. It is just so annoying because otherwise I am eating totally healthy, getting lots of protein, and I am typically below or slightly above my calorie allowance. Yes I could be gaining muscle, but I am gaining inches....ugghhhh Exercise was supposed to help me!!! Has anyone had a similar experience? Please some words of encouragement?
If it helps, I don't believe that Bikram yoga burns 1000 calories for me. I only log 600 of them...with caution.

I have the same problem, and nothing I eat is all that unhealthy (since I cut Cheetos out of my diet, anyway).. I feel like I was doing better not exercising (and not eating the food that I craved after) than I am not trying to be healthy and eat right/exercise. It sucks that trying to make positive, healthy improvements (diet, exercise) leads to me gaining weight:(

What i do is underestimate my exercise calories, and overestimate my calories. I find that this helps with keeping things in check.

maybe you're thirsty and mistaking thirst for hunger? working out hard means you gotta drink.

make sure you're getting enough protein and also make sure you are not just retaining water. salted or smoked almonds can be high in sodium.

Or maybe you feel deprived because you're working out so you're eating even when you're not that hungry? Or, you are that hungry, and your metabolism is catching up and just need a little time to level out. I think I read somewhere that it takes like 1-7 hours for food to make it from your stomach to your intestines and then up to like 36 hours for your intestines to metabolize it all. take a break day from working out so hard and see where you are at the following day.

Just my thoughts after reading your post, hope they are helpful. If not, please disregard :)
