Seriously....

I posted a similartopic earlier but am so frustrated with myself. I lost 6 pounds last week. Good deal. This week, I do awesome during the day with food and calorie count. I have not exercised as much as I want, and then 3 ofthe nights I binged at night (Taco Bell twice and Chinese once). You would think I would learn my lesson and not make those choices. Ugh. Well, here is to a new day tomorrow. I stop myself from losing the weight I so desperately want to; such a self-sabotager....

Learn from your mistakes, but don't dwell on them! Each day is a new day and a new start! You can do it if you really want to!0

don't worry girl the more you lose the less you want to binge. i binged a lot when I first started, but once I started seeing numbers the desire slowly went away. I still feel the urge sometimes but i just look at my before picture & think about all the fab clothes i'm gonna be able to wear when im done (: you can do it!!! & feel free to message me anytime you need a little motivation, it helps to have support! I hear you, I've done the same, loosing weight isn't linear, it's not black and white, but the longer you stick at it, you have more good weeks than bad. Thats what takes off pounds. This isn't a race, it's for the rest of your life. Don't beat yourself up, you're aware what your doing and over time, if you keep at it, you WILL win.0

I know this is easier said than done and I'm sure you've heard it before but when you get the urge to binge ask yourself why? why am i doing this? what am I really hungry for? even if you can't come up with an answer and only delay yourself from giving in to your urge by 5 minutes, if you do this every time and it actually stops you once, that feeling is so empowering. but if it doesn't work at first you can't beat yourself up. whenever you feel like you need to binge, there's either something wrong with your diet or (more commonly) there is something wrong emotionally. without healing that, sustainable weight-loss is just not possible. It may take a while but figure out what you're really hungry for, whether its physical or emotional and try to deal with it. It will take a while but you're worth it. Hope i don't sound too preachy, not my intention, I just have a lot of very personal experience with binging that I'm currently working through. Best of luck.0

This seems to work for me...think of your short term goal weight as a definite. Like, "I'm going on vacation next month. It's a done deal." Your brain has accepted this fact even though something might change those plans. Now think, "I will have lost 10 lbs by the end of next month" and believe it. The food you put in your body and your continuing weight is just an equation. When thinking of it in these terms, it is less emotional and more concrete.
Hope that helps even in a small way...

I think most of us have done something like that at one point or another... One thing I have learned is that the guilt trip I put my self through can easily discourage me from getting back on track. Just keep in mind that old habits are hard to break and remember to forgive your self!
One trick I have discovered when the craving for something I really do not need to eat pops up is to figure in my head how much it will cost ($) and add on the guilt I will surelly feel after then I make my self remember what I have at home that will be better for me and wheigh the choice... Do I want to go get it and pay for it and have $5+ less in my pocket and feel bad about it later or do I want to go home and prepare my self something that will make me feel better and save the $ and guilt for another day? Usually the guilt free $5+ in my pocket wins.0 -
Thanks for all the ideas, support, and suggestions. I really appreciate it. Lots to try and thoughts to challenge. We are all on this journey together. Hold on, kids, it's gonna be a wild ride!0

Allow yourself to have your treat if you really need it but allow for it, split your portion up before eating, have some of it ready to go home for the next day.
I goofed today and had a full 12" sub I felt hungry when I finished my workout but I wasn't really that hungry as evidenced by the pain I was in after eating so much / workout causing me to go lay down for a 3 hour nap which may keep me from getting to bed at a proper time tonight. Next time I want one I'll either just get the 6" or take the 12": and save the second part for lunch the next day. That way I get to enjoy the meal twice from one visit.0 -
I still screw up! But every day I wake up with a resolve to do better!
Messing up is part of the journey
But giving up isn't an option!
Hang in there!0
