Getting ready for the (field) hockey season

I joined this fitnesspal last week and love it. I am fairly active and play hockey 3 time a week in the on-season. Try to get to the gym in the off season when work allows. I have a very sedentry job, which is not good.
My problem is I love the taste of food. I have to have that taste in my mouth like I've just eaten something delicious.
I am enjoying keeping a tab on my food intake and am making some improvements to my diet already.
Heading off ot Argentina and Brazil to play some hockey in April 2011, so hope to have lost some weight by then. Hope to lose 10-15 kg in total, but not before April.
I need support as my partner of 15 years thinks it's ok for him to eat 3500 calories a day. Hmmm???
