Determined to Succeed

I'm about to turn 47 next week and I have been battling my weight most of my life. So I have decided to start a Life Change instead of a diet. I've been at it for 1 week and have lost the first 7 lbs. I know that the first few pounds are the easiest as your body adjusts to your new eating habits. I joined a gym with my fiance, who is on this life change ride with me and my daughter who doesn't need to lose weight as she is a 14 yr old dancer. However it is a family thing!
So why am I determined this time? Several things are playing into this determination:
1. My oldest son is getting married on October 28, 2011 and I don't want to be a fat Mother of the Groom.
2. In the last 7 years, I have lost my mother, husband, and father to Cancer. I need to improve my health.
3. I have found someone who is very special and we both are struggling with weight and health issues that can be improved with weight loss and exercise.
4. I want to live to see my Great-Great-Grandchildren!
I don't actually have a weight goal that I am attempting to achieve in a set time period. I have a goal to improve my health and to remove the extra person I am carrying around with me. But a good 100 pounds would be a nice start!
Thanks for letting me ramble! I was fortunate to find this as an App on my Iphone so before I decide to eat something, I consult it. I input everything thing I eat and everytime I exercise daily and I feel that this is the greatest tool in helping me achieve my goal....
