Good Morning!
Heavy exercise week this week -- I'm aiming to burn 750+ calories per day, with the caveat being that the exercise calories I consume need to be healthy.
So, yesterday:
~ "Yoga Booty Ballet" class at the gym (ahhhh, only in L.A.) -- I LOVED it!!! Only burned 250 calories but it felt great
~ 45 minutes on elliptical -- burned 550 calories
~ Kept within my calorie range and, a mini-success -- stuck to sugarfree hot chocolate for a treat. I came very close to snacking mindlessly in front of the TV but pulled back just in time!
Today:
~ 45 minutes cardio intervals (going to do 15 minute segments interspersed with weights)
~ Light weights
~ Take my vitamins
~ Keep within my calories, keep the calories healthy
Good luck everyone!

Today is my day off. . .
Weighed myself today (always a mistake) and I'm up. I'm still within my "maintenance range", but I hate the way it feels to move up, even if I know that it's water retention, blah, blah, blah, etc. . .
Feeling very "beearrgh" in general. . .and trying not to let that influence my eating. I've resolved to really watch my food, and make sure my calories are coming from nutritious sources.
I am jealous of the "LA buffet" of workout classes. Even though I'm in a big city, we just don't have much variety here. I keep looking for a Zumba class, and can't find one. I get to try a bikram class in two weeks, so I'm excited about that. It's weird now that I feel like I'm not exercising enough. (even though I'm still working out six days a week, it's not the two hour sessions I was getting when I was losing.)
Oh, and what job did you pick to go with, wanderin'? And, responding to your other "dating" post, you are neither decaf or even half-caf, from my estimation. It's tough out there, and I hope you find one that makes "your toes shoot up in your boots" as my grandaddy used to say. . .0 -

Ahhhhh, I know...my grandma used to always say "is he your rock?" and too many weren't able to pass that test. Still looking, still optimistic. No word from Cappa-Kevin and I had to say no to Decaf Kevin. Just no sparks there!
P.S. I'm feeling "beeeeeearrrgh" also. What a great way to put it!
HOWEVER, I did accept the job with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition yesterday! Thanks for remembering. I'm excited about it. My biggest reservation with it was (again) the travel and the problems with trying to be healthy on the road for eight long months (it's 12 days out, 5 days back, repeat for eight months). I'm just so sick of eating all my meals at Applebee's and TGIF's (those always seem to be the only two restaurants near our hotels). I know they have healthy options but bleeeccchhhhhh...I love to cook my own healthy food.
On this job, we won't have cars, so we will be limited to walking distances around the hotels.
I'm really going to be looking for more advice. I'm so excited about having lost 10lbs and I want to keep losing. My plan of action is to bring my HRM, a hot plate and my resistance bands with me, and to splurge on taxis to grocery stores to get fruit, veggies, brown rice, etc. Some people think it is strange that my biggest reason not to take the job was worrying about not keeping healthy, but it is such an important part of my life...I think most MFPers understand!0 -
I just get on a good exercise routine and I am doing really well, then I get slammed with a nasty cold! I have been sick SO many times in the last 6 months and I don't know why! I'm getting so tired of it! So I am down for the count today and have been for the last four days. I sure hope I am better tomorrow. I am at least trying to keep my calories down. My boy caught the cold from me too so I need to take care of him. I'll be back on later.0

I need to vent. This morning I called and invited my mom to my pageant in August. She said, "I jdon't think I'm up to it, That's just not where I am at anymore". She used to take me to all my pageants when I was a teenager, I always raised the sponsorship so it never cost my family a penny, and it helped pay for college. Suddenly, she wants nothing to do with it or me. It sorta sucks when your own mom doesn't support you. Infact, when I told her I was competing, the first two things she asked were "How much will it cost?" and "How long do you have to drop out?" What the??????
Anyways, I'm uber depressed and almost gave up on my diet today. I did have a chocolate chip cookie, but skipped the deep fried comfort foods. Afterall, I want to prove her wrong, right? Any words of encouragement could really be used. I'm pretty much typing through my devestated tears.
I will do the gazelle a bit later. It has stormed all day and I couldn't get out to do my hill repeats. Maybe tomorrow. Sorry for being such a downer. :brokenheart:0 -
Oh Arianna...you are not a downer at all! I'm sorry that you are going through this. It's awful when the one person who you are used to leaning on for support suddently decides to push away, especially with no rhyme or reason to it.
Don't give up! Applaud yourself for sticking to the one cookie and not turning to the other food for comfort. You are so close to your goal, I just know you are going to look amazing up there!
Be strong and remember that you are the only one who can follow your own journey, so in the end the pageant needs to be for you and not for your mom. So sorry that you are feeling sad -- I'm sending lots of good wishes your way for a better tomorrow!0 -

Such a different approach!
I allow my deserts/beer to be exercise calories! ~laughing~
Much better incentive!

I was doing it that way too...LOL...but found out I was really letting those drinks and desserts slide because of all the calories I'm burning. Now I'm trying to keep it a bit more under control!
I'm great! How have you been?0
