Hi all! I'm a recent member of MFP (joined Jan. 2011). My starting weight on Nov. 22 was 184 and I'm 5' 5.5". I have a large bust so that throws things off a bit but otherwise, I have some weight to lose. My goal weight is 140-150 which is where I was in 1998!!! LOL! Since then I've went to college, gotten older, gotten remarried and had my 3rd child who is now 5.

I'm ready to do this!! I've already lost 10 lbs since I started trying Nov. 21 and since joining MFP I feel like I have a helper since I now have a food & exercise diary that is easy to use and know how many calories (1,200) I should have a day to be on target for my goal weight. I'm trying to lose 2 lbs per week.

I work out, mostly cardio right now, 4 - 5 times a week. I have the Total Gym machine but haven't gotten to that yet. I'm focusing on cardio to increase my fitness abilities and lose weight.

In 2 weeks I'll be starting the police academy with classes including physical fitness 4 days per week for 7.5 months. This goal has motivated me to lose weight and get in shape. I guess I just needed a little push! There is a physical fitness test I must pass at the end which, if I stay on track, will be a piece of cake! 1.5 miles in 15 minutes / 27 push ups = 1 min / 31 situps = 1 min, etc.

I watch what I eat, drink lots of water every day and I reward myself with treats now and then. My favorite is icecream!

I look forward to supporting other MFP members and we can all cheer each other on to reach our goals! =) Go us!!

Welcome. This is a really great site. Congrats on getting into the police academy. Hopefully I'll be there sometime this year.
