Starting again

Hi, I've been on MFP on and off for a while now and had some success but not been able to stick to it once I've achieved my first major goal. With the start of a new year I'm back with renewed determination, this time to get to my goals and stick there.
The forum appears to be a great source of support and information - hopefully I will get the encouragement when my resolve starts to weaken.
Anyway I'm a 40 year old bloke from the UK who plays football (soccer) twice a week and finding it harder and harder to keep up with the young 'uns. Oh, and I like a drink which is probably going to be the biggest challenge when I'm out or playing cards.
One question i do have though is, once you've set your preferred weight loss of, say, 1 pound a week the website sets a target calorie intake to achieve this weight loss. As you lose weight does the site automatically reset the daily calorie target based on your reducing weight or do you have to manually reset your target to correct the target number of calories?
Good luck to everyone.

G'day mate... I believe that after a certain amount of weight loss, you will be asked to reassess your calorie intake. You should always accept as less body mass means less calories required to keep it running.
Good luck with your fat loss .... Don't get hung up on the past failures as there is nothing you can do about them now!!!

welcome
this is a great site with lots of motivation and encouragement, also support. You can do it
as far as your question everytime you lose 10lbs the site will ask you if you want to reaccess your goals ,. You answer the questions and then it will reset your calories for you. I hope this helps0
