Ok, so I did my BMR and estimated how many calories I need to have to lose weight. I am 5'7" and 271 and it said I needed 1600 calories or so. I am sticking to that and making some healthy food choices but it seems like Im eating a lot of food.
I guess my question is this
How many calories are you eating?
Did you lose weight eating that amount?
How did you figure out how many calories you needed to lose weight?

Mine is set to 1600 calories a day as well and I've lost 9lbs in 9 days. It's probably water weight but I'm happy about it. I bought a lot of chicken breast, baby carrots, celery, bananas and if I want to snack I bought those Special K cereal bars and 100 calorie pack cookies. I workout 3 times a week for 30 minutes at the least. I drink lots of water and measure everything. Everyone's body reacts differently, so keep that in mind. Be patient :flowerforyou:0

I did my BMR through this site and compared it to other BMR tools (in books and online) and I am getting around the same number. I am eating 1390 calories per day and I have recently lost 2 lbs. I think this site is sooo helpful in keeping me on track and mindful of the calories.0

Mine is set to 1600 as well, I believe. I honestly have trouble hitting that amount sometimes, but I try to get as close as possible. I have lost weight.. I only started a week ago, but I've lost 2 lbs so far.
I haven't really been exercising much, either, so I'd say yes.. you can lose weight with that amount. As long as you make sure those calories count.. with veggies and fruit and plenty of healthy foods.0
