I started a new job working in a doctors office in July since then I have gained 24 lbs.. Reason being Christmas season.. Well actually any season lol.. Patients have brought us pastries beyond pastries, beyond pastries, beyond pastries.. Not to mention the countless bottles of wine, chocolate, homemade lasanga, grape leaves, lunch ins hosted by pharmaceutical reps, and much, much more..Not gonna lie either Im known to eat out on a reg because I live alone and hate cooking just for myself.. I have a history of high cholesterol and am pretty much diabetic border line.. This was all established when I was 24 lbs lighter.. NOW I am back on the health kick.. Before getting this job I was a student/ part time worker so I had the time and motivation to work out 5 days a week.. Now, not so much.. I also lost 50 lbs 5 yrs ago using a low carb diet and pretty much gained every lb bac, minus 2 lbs..SO the plan is to eat right, work out and get back into my jeans.. I NEED to do this not only because I feel fat but also for my health..I am afraid to go see my doctor because I know he is going to throw me on Crestor and yell at me with no end lol.. Crestor at 26 is pretty sad.. I started using MFP yesterday and got all the girls in my office on board.. The last 2 days iv gone under my calorie goal and have done cardio at home. I weigh 178 right now and my goal is 130.. But i'll settle for 150.. MY QUESTION IS: What keeps you motivated and disciplined?? Cuz honestly I really want a big mac right now... lol

ALSO: I have this crazy thing where I wake up in the middle of the night randomly and eat, eat, eat.. snacks like cheese strings, crackers, nuts.. scoops of peanut butter etc.. Im not sleep walking because I remember but its like I have no self control and usually dont remember till the next day.. Any help with that would be God sent.

Thanks :)

Motivated? Support! From here and similar minded people. We all have our not so great days.

It's the days where you don't feel like working out- but you do anyway because you KNOW it will make you feel better.

Don't deprive yourself! You want a big mac? Work it into your diet once a week and SAVOUR it

You have to change your mind about "diets", it really does have to be forever- which is why dieting doesn't work. The key? Moderation, portion control and eating satisfying foods :flowerforyou:

What motivates me? fitting into a size 10 wedding dress. AND not having a belly.

Well, I live in Florida so the thought of another summer coming around and NOT being in a bikini is motivation enough! BUT some mornings when I wake up and don't feel like working out, I google pictures of healthy weights I am working towards..and picture my face there..haha, is that creepy lol? Oooh and the progress section and pictures helps too. Has worked so far and I've been doing this 2 weeks now! Anyways, the possibility of being on a RX for diabetes should be motivation enough! Hope I helped..maybe I'm just rambling. Most importantly, YOU CAN do this!!! :)
