Hello All,
I was wondering if anyone knows on average how many calories are burnt doing this work out (30 mins and is more resistance work than the 'dancing' style'...ohhhh do i feel the burn now! (or calories of a abs buns and thighs class?)

I've read people burn on average 400-900 calories in Zumba (depending of course on their weight and intensity). I'm not familiar with a Zumba Abs Buns & Thighs program, but I know in my Zumba classes I burn ~550 calories in an hour.
Personally I would put in half an hour of Zumba and then if you did more resistance training put in a half hour of that...or call it circuit work if there is still cardio involved in the resistance part.
JM2C for what I'd do if I didn't have a HRM.
Great job getting out there...I LOVE Zumba...it's seriously the most fun "exercising" I've ever had. I almost feel bad calling it exercising ahaha.0 -
I think it burns like 500 calories all together. I'm 128 right now and I'm doing zumba abbs, buns and thighs 5 times a week hoping to get my result.0

Depending on the intensity of a genuine Zumba class you can burn 400-800 an hour. I love Zumba, and I am glad you felt "the burn".
AS a side note, because I work hard and pay a lot for my Zumba licensing I would like to point something out. ....Zumba licensing makes pretty strict guidelines about what a class can be called. There is no such thing as a Zumba abs and thighs class. There are licensed Zumba toning classes. Is this some kind of video I may not be aware of?0 -
This is a "Zuma Fitness" dvd, I also have it and it would be good to know how many calories u burn completing this too!0

I was wondering the same thing. Since it's different from a Zumba class I do not think it is 500 calories. The workout is great but I would estimate it at around 250 calories.0
