Here I am again .. after taking 18 months to lose 6 stone (on Atkins) and keeping it off for 18 months, I meet the man of my dreams :flowerforyou: , he takes me out to dinner a lot and makes me eat, he takes me out drinking a lot :drinker: and makes me drink, and doesn't seem fussed whether I'm fat or thin.
Problem is I do  .. and in 7 months I've now managed to put on 2 stone since meeting him. So, now I've joined this site and love it and check in on my iphone all the time. I've lost 8 pound since I started just after Christmas and want to get to somewhere between 10 and 10 1/2 stone .. was 12.6 when I started, now 11.12 .. soo, wish me luck, I've done it before, so I'll no doubt do it again.
Good luck to you all

Good luck. I wish you and your new boyfriend the best. I think it's great he see "You" and not just how you look. I think it's kind of wrong of you saying he "Made" eat when you first started going out. Unless of course he shoved the food down your throat. Then get the hell away from him.
Great job so far and keep up the good job.0 -
hahhaah ...... well, when I say made me eat, he held me down and stuffed it down my throat .. NOT .. lol .. no, I do take responsiblity, for losing the weight, 6 stone was a hell of a battle and for putting it back on - and the 7 months have been great, and why not indulge a bit, I just now have to pay the price, but I'm ready for that - just a bit grumpy for a few days but MFP makes me focus because I have to input my calories.
I cannot do Atkins again never seems to work when you try and do it a second / third time - so this way is easier for me
As long as I reign it in now, because you know what it's like 7 pounds, 1 stone, 2 and before you know it you've got 6 stone to lose again .. so now's a good time to STOP and take control again. Ready for those fantastic clothes you can wear in Spring and Summer :bigsmile:0 -
Great that you are taking a stand and doing something about it now
At least you are amongst friend who have the same goals and we can all healp each other as we move through our weight loss journey0 -

Good luck Tess, I really enjoyed Atkins becuse you can eat as much as you like of hte things you are allowed, so was never hungry. Used to take pork / bacon bits to work and munch all day :-)
Was full of energy too and as I say I lost a lot of weight, but every time I tried to get back on it, it never seemed to work, though with the way my body works I have to still try and eat fewer carbs, tough when you are trying to eat low calorie as well :-((
Anyway, good luck all, I know from past experience, that writing on these walls and having friends with much the same goals always makes the road to achieving what you want less of a chore :-))))0 -
I know what you mean about trying to eat fewer carbs. I tried Atkins, but it was too hard for me to do. I do try to lower my intake of carbs. That is a big problem for me on how my body seems to turn it into fat all at once lol. It makes it hard to get a beer when you had a bad week lol.0
