Quick calorie burning question

I have been partipating in a spinning class at my gym which requires the use of a heart rate monitor. My heart rate monitor also counts the calories burned; the last class I burned 818 calories in 60 minutes. My question - does the 818 include the 100 calories I would have burn naturally if I did nothing, or is the 818 in addition to the 100 that would have burned anyway? Thanks:indifferent:

I would say that seeing as it is calculated using your elevated heart rate that it would be the total amount of cals used in that time not exercise plus what you would have used had you not been training. e.g 818 in total not 818+100 if that makes sense
  • It's a total number to simplify my otherwise long explanation ;)

Your HRM calculates total caloric burn so you would have to back out the 100 to get the extra calories burned through exercise. The 100 would be included in your daily activity and would have been accounted for in your base calories suggested by MFP. so you should enter 718 into MFP.
