Polar F6 not reading my heart rate accurately?!

I have the Women's Polar F6 (the one in a light pink), and it's been working fine for over a year. About three days ago, it stopped working right. The manual only covers what to do if it excessively high or stays on 00. Mine is about 15-25 beats below my actual heart rate though. I've worked out enough to tell where my heart rate is, and when it should be in the 140's, my watch says it's only at 120. When it should be in the 170's, it says it's in the 150's. Ugh. It's really annoying. I'm still wetting the strap just as I normally do and putting it in the right spot. What should I do? Anybody else had this problem?

When was the last time you washed the straps with soap (not detergent). You might need to do that.
