I am going to start juicing more often and focus particularly on green juices post workout. Anyone have a favorite post-workout NATURAL, RAW green juice recipe they would like to share?
I have been juicing off and on for a while but haven't experimented too much with specifically amino acid dense veggies for after workouts.
Send the ideas this way! :-D

Out of Nourishing Traditions... (not green, but good)
1 1/4 cups plain yogurt (I use our homemade yogurt from raw milk)
    1 ripe banana
    2 Tbsp coconut oil
1/4 tsp stevia (can use 3-4 Tbsp maple syrup too)
    1 tsp vanilla
    pinch of nutmeg
2 raw egg yolks (you can add a little water to help it blend if you don't want to use these or a flax oil)

    Avocado Delight Green Smoothie
    1/4 C Coconut Milk
    1/2 Avocado
    1/4 C Water
    1/4 C Pineapple Chunks
    1 C Spinach
    Top with Ice

And just another one we made up...
    1 C yogurt
    1 banana
    1 C kale
    1 Tbsp Spirulina
    1 Tsp Maca Root
    1 Tbsp raw honey
    Top with ice
  • If you have a Co-op near you buy the green drink powder they have. There is one Vitamineral Green and it has over 100 green veggies in it. It is awesome, taste weird but so healthy I dont even mind it!!
  • I would much rather do it in the whole vegetable form and not go with powders. I have seen the powders and the idea of the fresh fruit or veggie seems for nutritious and less of a mystery to me ;) And I like the taste of every fruit and veggie so there is no problem there :)

That avocado coconut milk one looks amazing! They all do actually but that one sure does stand out! Thank you for that! Have you figured out the nutrition info on any of them or should I just enter the recipe on MFP and go from there? I do that for lots of meals so I don't mind it for a smoothie. Thank you again!

    I am anxious for more!!

Why don't you try this one and let me know what you think of it? it isn't completely green but it tastes great.

    Serves 4 or more:

    - half pineapple medium or large
    - 1.5kg organic carrots
    - 3 long sticks celery
    - half cucumber skin on
    - 2 hands full of spinach
    - 1 inch piece ginger root
    - 1 large avocado

Put all ingredients in the juicer except the avocado. Don't worry about the spinach it will go down well. If you have a blender scoop the avocado in then pour the juice over and mix.

If you want a red juice try add a raw beetroot in the juicer.

    Enjoy!
  • Thanks! I love having plenty to choose from! I have both a blender and juicer. :)
