Hello \All,

I am going out for Japanese for dinner tonight for a friends birthday and I have about 350-400 cals to work with, does anyone have suggestions as to what I should eat (i don't eat fish...stupid i know a japanese restaurant but hey wasn't my choice!)

  • get something with grilled chicken. Just make sure to drink LOTS of water because they use a lot of salt and vinegar. If you avoid fried food and get some veggies and a chicken something you should be fine. DO not let yourself stress over it. If you do not eat out often, let this be special and just chose wisely :) I LOVE sushi! Have a Red Dragon roll for me! hahahahah

A lot of sushi places have rolls with just veggies in them (cucumber, avocado, asparagus, sweet potato). Some times they have fruit rolls too, with mango and stuff. Or you could try a chicken tempura roll, but keep in mind the chicken is going to be deep-fried. There should be other things on the menu, too. Miso soup is good, and I would imagine they would have some selection of steamed vegetables with tofu or meats. Good luck!

    Hopefully this will help: http://www.sushifaq.com/sushi-calories.htm
  • She doesn't eat fish so she won't eat most of those ;) I find it helpful for me though! I love love sushi! Thanks! And at some places you can order with brown rice too! So that helps.

But I find that if i type in sushi on my MFP app it will give you a list of ball park ideas for different sushi things.

    Worth a shot.
