Has anyone here tryed Innocents (the smootie makers) veg pots?

They look pretty nice and a good range of choice and they are all 3 of your 5 a day, high in fibre and fairly low cal.

Moroccan Squash Vegetable Pots
Thai Coconut Curry Vegetable Pot
Indian Daal Curry Vegetable Pots
Porteguese red pepper piri piri Pots
Mexican sweet chilli potato
Italian mushroom risotto

And some more-

    YES!!
I love them. They are pretty expensive, but they are now my go-to meal if I don't have the time to cook from fresh in the evening. I had the Indian Daal last night (but I added extra carrot and broccoli). The Moroccan Squash is also delicious. Wasn't so keen on the Thai Coconut one, didn't have much flavour. Haven't tried the rest but I would reccommend them :)

They do sound nice! I dont eat alot of fruit and veg so these and their smoothies could be a great way to improve that as its not so much the flavour but the texture with alot of fruit sice a fairly young age (strange I know)

Also thought they could be a good alternative an lunch to having sandwiches quick and easy + portable for work.

Bringing them for lunch would be a great idea - they are very filling and you won't find yourself needing to eat anything else :)

I'm crazy about these pots! The info inside the cardboard is always a fun read but more importantly these low carb, gluten free, 3 of your 5 a day pots are super filling and delicious. I'm a total meat fiend so I was shocked to find these fill me up so much that I don't have to cook it to go with! I love the Mexican sweet potato chilli and Mousaka (hope thats spelt right sorry if not) best, then the thai green curry, then mushroom rissotto and wasnt overly impressed over the daahl curry but it was still packed with veg and extremely filling. Can't wait to try the rest.

Ive had 3 for lunch this week now, so tasty. All these pots are 3 of your 5 a day low in sodium and very filling!

Sunday - Thai curry veg pot
This is my least favourite, was a little bland but its also the lowest cals (around 250 per pot) and they are very filling as they claimed, far more then a sandwich or even a larger meal.

    Contains-
Carrot, cooked rice (water, rice, wild rice (0.4%)), yellow split peas, water, onion, spring greens, water chestnut, edamame beans (5%) (contains soya), coconut cream (4%), spinach, ginger, red thai curry paste (vegetable oil, water, red chilli, salt, ginger, garlic, galangal, sugar, lemongrass, shallot, spices, kaffir lime peel), coriander, cornflour, soy sauce (water, salt, molasses, sugar, soya bean, wheat) (contains gluten), lemon juice, vegetable oil, garlic, lime leaves, sea salt, lemongrass (0.2%), basil, cumin, black pepper.

Monday - Indian Dal Curry veg pot
Very very tasty, loads of flavour and loads of veg, the ingredients are-

    Contains-
Water, carrot, yellow split peas (12%), onion, potato, chickpeas (7%), peas, cauliflower (5%), tomato, cooked rice (water, basmati rice, vegetable oil), leek, spinach (1%), vegetable oil, lemon juice, cornflour, garlic, sea salt, coriander, ginger, cumin seed, mustard seed, spices, red chilli, curry leaves

Today - Mexican sweet potato chilli-
My favourite so far again loads of flavour a little spice but not too much.

    Contains-
Cooked brown rice (17%) (water, brown rice), tomato, water, carrot, pinto beans, red kidney beans, onion, sweet potato (5%), potato, red pepper (4%), sweetcorn, spinach, vegetable oil, red chilli (0.8%), cornflour, lemon juice, garlic, sea salt, cajun seasoning (spices, herbs, mustard seed, salt, sugar), smoked paprika (0.2%), green chilli puree, coriander, black pepper.

How bad is it that as an American looking at this it reads like Chinese to me because there is no "sodium benzoate" or "guar gum" or "potassium sorbate (to preserve freshness)... etc... Just all natural ingredients.... Man you guys on the other side of the pond have it made. :) Enjoy it for me. Cuz Ill most likely be having something that has a poison in it. >:(

ha is american food really that bad?
The reason I love these so much is I love meat and hate veg normly but I would happily have one of these pots for lunch and one for dinner if they wernt so expensive :P Im not sure if they sell outside of UK but coca-cola brought the majority stake a few years back but doesn't seem to of changed it thank god :)

Yep, most American food has some sort of chemical in it to "preserve" it or make it more appealing to eat (fake colors and flavors). Much of our food is filled with cancer causing chemicals.

 Afraid not! Innocent are a UK company who were taken over by coca-cola a few years back after beconing pretty well known for its healthy smooties (a glass contains 2 of your 5 per day) But have more recently in the last couple of years started to do "thicks" which are more of a yogurt and Veg pots. You should look online see if you can order from somewhere, we get places in the UK which sell american only items

Just in case anyone in the UK hasn't spotted - they are on two for one at Sainsburys at the moment, so a bit more affordable. Think the deal is on till the end of October.

Stocked up with four on way home from work... that's my lunches sorted out till Friday!

Effortless way to get some veg and fibre (and garlic and chili!) into my diet.
  • I like the Thai one, especially the water chestnuts.
My favourite thing from Innocent is the banana-free smoothie - doesn't matter to me what else is in a smoothie, all I can taste is the half a banana and it really puts me off.

Going to the States for 4 months next year, how will I survive??

Oooooh , I love the Thai one too. It gave me a real taste for pak choi, which I now buy from the supermarket (Morrisons just calls it 'Chinese leaf') dead cheap. Amazing cooked for just two minutes with a little stock in the bottom of the pan with some soy sauce and garlic (whack the lid on to steam it). Yum! And very few calories!
