Two words. Food Inc. Rent that movie. It will change your life if you haven't seen it. Usually for free if you have netflix. When they scroll through the list of foods made with Fructose Corn Syrup my wife said I buy every single one of those products. SCARY stuff.0

Have you heard about what is put into raspberry flavored sweets and candies? Anal secretions from the beaver. Apparently it enhances the raspberry flavor
 I think I just threw up in my mouth a lil bit............0 -

That was a very revealing article. A few other good ones to check out I'd say would be

I was looking for this article the other day when the discussion of bacon vs turkey bacon came up (again lol)
There is a third bacon alternative: beef bacon. Tastes way better than turkey. I haven't compared it to pork bacon (nutritionally), but, I don't eat pork, so for me it was an easy decision.0 -
Great article!! I love the "Eat This" books. I bought the app last night for my iPad/iPhone and find its information awesome for those of us that travel a lot or have to make informed decisions away from our kitchens.0

The ammonia cleansing they do with hamburgers is called mechanically separated meat and they do the same thing with chicken too (i.e. for chicken patties, etc).
