afraid to weigh in

It's been several weeks since I weighed in, and I haven't been "perfect". My clothes fit the same, so I probably haven't gained much if any. Should I just wait until I "feel" lighter, or just weigh in anyway. I'm afraid if it's bad it will send me into a bingy spiral. What do you think?

I say weigh in. Part of the experience is being honest with yourself and dealing with the emotions around the number on the scale. It's not about being perfect. Not weighing in seems to me to give the scale too much importance.

I agree, weigh in. It's like ripping of a plaster, do it quick!

You have to know what your working with so that you have the motivation to go on. Otherwise you could just go on forever avoiding the issue and end up right back where you started.

you wont know until you do it.......JUST DO IT....you are going to weigh the same whether you get on the scale or not...AND that number does not necessarily mean you GAINED gained...it could just be water retention for "yucky" foods...the quicker you get on the scale the quicker you can get started again.....

OR just get started again and see where you are next week....give yourself one clean week of eating and working out and then check your weight.......

your choice, but you have to do something or you will GAIN GAIN and it could get out of hand....

good luck and let us know what you decide...

I'd weigh-in. I feel like there is more fear in the 'unknown'. It is better to battle the demon you know instead of the one you don't.

Ok, I'm getting way to cute with my words. Face your fears, hop on the scale, and see what you are dealing with. You may have lost weight, you may have gained, or you may have stayed the same. You could have gained muscle (which weighs more than fat) or you could have lost inches. If you are anything like me you won't feel better until you know for sure. Just make sure that when you are weighing-in, you do it consistently (same time of day, same amount of clothes, etc.). I agree with the previous poster, you've got to be able to deal with the emotions related to the number on the scale.

    best of luck!

I agree ^^^^^ you should weigh in. You need to know where you stand. Taking the ostrich approach with your head in the sand it probably what got you here in the first place.

    Good luck..
  • Weigh in. You will at least know where you stand. I found that even though I am losing weight, my clothes don't change until I've lost about 5 lbs.

But, as a word of caution, make a list of ways to react constructively (i.e. without food) if the news from the scale is not good. With your plan, you will do things that will help you stay on track instead of going on a bing... I went through a similar situation and found the list very helpful. I had things like cleaning the bathroom and cleaning out our linen closet on there and my bathroom was never so clean!

Stick with it and you will succeed. Remember: you didn't gain the weight overnight, so it won't come off overnight.

    Good Luck!
